Tyra Sweater

The Tyra Sweater is an oversized sweater inspired by the classic Aran sweater, featuring large diagonal cables and strong textural contrasts. The design combines bold cables with wide sections of purl stitches, giving the sweater a graphic and modern look.

The sweater is worked top down with drop shoulders. The back is worked first, back and forth, and shaped with increases. Stitches are then picked up for the shoulders, which are shaped with increases toward the neckline before being joined to form the front. The front, back, and sleeves are all worked back and forth. Finally, the sweater is seamed at the sides and under the sleeves. The sweater is finished with wide purl borders at the hem, cuffs, and neckline.

Yarn: 450-500 (500) 550 (550-600) g Önling no 3 by Önling garn (50 g = 133 m) held together with 350-400 (400) 450 (450) g Önling no 21 by Önling garn (50 g = 195 m),  or 600 (600-650) 650 (700) g Fivel by Rauma Garn (50 g = 100 m) held together with 150 (175) 175 (200) g Alpaca silk by Rauma Garn (25 g = 200 m).

Note: If you are knitting with Fivel and Alpaca Silk from Rauma Garn, it is recommended to go down half a needle size.

Size guide: The Tyra Sweater is designed to be worn with approx. 30–40 cm [12–16 in] of positive ease. Sizes correspond to a bust measurement of approx. 80-85 (87-92) 93-98 (99-107) 108-120 cm [31½–33½ (34¼–36¼) 36½–38½ (39–42¼) 42½–47¼ inches)].
